Why there is no number here. We could show an estimate. Plenty of sites do. But a road tax figure that looks authoritative and is wrong is worse than no figure at all — it can cost you money and it wastes your time. This page stays empty until we can stand behind it.
What we currently understand
New energy vehicles are exempt from the annual vehicle and vessel tax. The purchase-tax exemption is being phased out from 2026, but that is a one-off purchase tax and is not part of the annual road tax reported here.
