Terms of service
Last updated: 15 October 2026
1. Agreement
These terms govern your use of EVRoadTax.com, operated by [REGISTERED COMPANY NAME] (registration number [COMPANY REGISTRATION NUMBER], [REGISTERED ADDRESS]). By using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
2. What we provide
EVRoadTax.com is a free information service. We publish estimated annual electric vehicle road tax figures for a number of countries, a calculator built on those figures, explanatory guides, and a way to request quotes from independent charging installation partners.
3. Our figures are estimates, not advice
Road tax is set by governments and varies by vehicle, region, registration date and individual circumstances. Our figures are estimates derived from the sources we cite, and each one is labelled with a confidence level. They are not tax, legal, financial or professional advice.
- Always confirm the amount with the relevant authority before renewing, buying or relying on it.
- We do not guarantee that a figure is current, complete or correct for your specific vehicle.
- Where a country's rules are changing we may show a range rather than a single number, on purpose.
4. Charging equipment and installation
We do not sell, supply, install or service charging equipment. We pass installation enquiries to independent partners.
- Any contract for hardware, installation or servicing is between you and the partner, not with us.
- We do not control partners' pricing, workmanship, timelines or warranties and we are not responsible for them.
- You are responsible for satisfying yourself that a partner is suitably qualified, certified and insured before appointing them.
- We may receive a commission from a partner if you appoint them. This does not change what you pay and does not influence the tax data we publish.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- scrape, harvest or bulk-extract the site or its data without our written permission;
- submit false, misleading or third-party personal data through our forms;
- misrepresent our figures as authoritative government data;
- introduce malware, attempt to breach our security, or interfere with the site's normal operation;
- use the site in a way that breaks applicable law.
6. Intellectual property
The site, its design, text and the structure of its dataset belong to us or our licensors. You may read, share links to and quote short extracts with attribution. You may not republish substantial parts, or use our data commercially, without permission.
Government publications we cite remain subject to their own terms (for example, Crown copyright for UK material).
7. Availability
We aim to keep the site available and accurate, but we provide it "as is" and "as available". We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it, including individual country pages, without notice.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss arising from decisions made in reliance on an estimate published here, or from the acts or omissions of an installation partner. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
9. Third-party links and content
We link to government sources and partner websites. We are not responsible for their content, availability or practices.
10. Corrections
If you believe a figure is wrong, tell us at hello@evroadtax.com with the source you are relying on. We review corrections against primary sources and update the dataset, the confidence label and the "reviewed" date. Our process is described on the methodology page.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top will change and continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION], and the courts of [JURISDICTION] have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
